Google has continued to move back the timeline for the deprecation of Chrome Apps on Chrome OS, before settling as an EOL time-frame of 2022. The move is to bring Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) into the forefront, as they are quicker, more versatile, and easier to update.

The list will continue to growĪs of this writing, Google announced that the Chrome Web Store for Apps would be going away with the transition beginning in 2020. With this PWA, you will get faster load times, while cutting down on the amount of data used both physically and through the internet.
